Sinusitis treatment in Clapham
Sinusitis is swelling of the sinuses, usually after a cold. It often clears up within 2 to 3 weeks, but our pharmacist can help if it is lasting a long time or getting worse.

Common symptoms
- Pain, swelling or pressure around your cheeks, eyes or forehead
- A blocked or runny nose
- Green or yellow mucus from your nose
- A reduced sense of smell
- Symptoms lasting 10 days or more, or getting worse after starting to improve
How we can help
- Advice on easing pain and pressure
- A steroid nasal spray, if suitable
- Antibiotics, only if a bacterial infection is likely
The pharmacist will decide what is right for you. Not everyone needs medicine, and some people may need to see a GP instead.
Things you can try at home
- Rest and drink plenty of fluids
- Take paracetamol or ibuprofen if suitable for you
- Hold a warm, damp cloth over your face
- Rinse your nose with a salt water solution
Get urgent help if
- Swelling or redness around your eyes
- Changes to your vision, such as double vision
- A severe headache, a stiff neck or sensitivity to light
- Confusion or feeling very drowsy
Call NHS 111 for urgent advice, or 999 in an emergency.
